2008 Events Calendar
January
Osaka 2006 World Rose Conference
Mitchie & John Moe from the Valley
Rose Society in Washington State attended the WFRS convention in Osaka and have
put together a wonderful presentation, for our viewing pleasure. Mitchie &
John are PNW consulting rosarians, Rose Show Judges, hybridizers of
beautiful roses, and most recently have been awarded the "Silver Medal" for
service to the PNW District of the American Rose Society.
Please mark Tuesday January 29th on
your calendar so you don't miss this very special meeting. Guests are
always welcomed at our meetings which begin at 7:30 pm.
February
Spring Start Up
A Panel discussion of how to get your
rose garden ready for the coming year. Subjects covered will be pruning,
mulching, fertilizing and more.
March
PowerPoint presentation on integrated
pest management. There will be lots of photos, so you will be able to
identify both disease pests and insect pests in your rose garden. If you
have ever wondered what ails your roses, you may find the answer at the March
meeting.
April
April is Miniature rose month -
Gorgeous Miniature Roses will be available at this meeting and the program
will be all about "Miniature Roses"
May TBD
June
Please mark your calendar so you don't miss this very important meeting.
Bowls, Baskets etc. will be distributed at this meeting for those wishing to
prepare their entry in advance. Exhibitor numbers, and cards will also be
distributed.
The annual Rose Show is held this
month on the 28rd & 29th.
The focus of the meeting will be all about the "Rose
Show."
July
2006 Rose Show Trophy presentations
Getting ready for next year's new Roses in the garden
A panel discussion of roses that have done well this season and a
question and answer forum about growing roses and varieties and "Beginners
Corner" with Bill Meagher.
August
There is no meeting in August.

September
"The little Fall show" Bring your
roses to enter in the show.
Prizes will be awarded to all winners. This meeting is always lots of fun
and a rewarding learning experience whether you're interested in showing your
roses or not.
October
PowerPoint presentation featuring Roses, Rose Gardens, Rose Show, Rose Society activities and garden
events. It's always interesting to see photographs of new roses and since
we'll have two photographers at work this season, it promises to be a very
exciting presentation.
November
Annual General Meeting and "Winter
Social"
December
There is no meeting in December.
